High Flyers for the Week 16/11/16

Last week we celebrated students from across the school who were acknowledged for making great choices that help them to fly in their lives and learning.  They are listed below and remember that you can access photos from our school Facebook page.

First Flight – New Entrant and Year 1

 Mrs Absalom, Mrs Kendrick, Mrs Anthony, Mrs Bishop & Mrs Mellor

Harakeke Kelly Tomai-Coppell Wow! You have been making great strides in your learning across all areas. Your positive attitude to learning is showing in the results you are achieving . This is so awesome to see.
Kopukapuka Reid Turner It’s always a delight listening to you read the stories that you write because your personal voice shines through. You know how to add detail to make your stories interesting and you can spell many words accurately. You read with lovely expression-just like Mr Buller!
Toe Toe
Kaponga Savanna Butler You have worked hard on your reading goal of making your reading sound smooth. You’re reading with expression and phrasing which makes it pleasing to listen to. Ka pai
Tawa Syriah Tuari For finding the courage to share your amazing learning with me. You now know ALL of the letter sounds. Kia Maia!

Take Flight – Years  2 & 3

Take Flight Tyler Kahotea Tuku Patai, it was great to see you being an “inquisitive Kea” during our session with the the Scientist from Environment BOP yesterday! You asked some super thoughtful questions about which invertabrates like to live in fresh water.
Take Flight Ryan McBrydie Reading your hillarious and descriptive writing is a real treat for your teachers and classmates to read. We loved your poem about your Dad with similes like “My Dad is loud like fireworks”. Kia Maia!
Take Flight Jaydah Roiri You are an enthusiastic mathematician! You know how to use faster addition strategies than counting on like using your doubles and place value knowledge. Ka mau te wehi!

 Flight Path – Years  3 & 4

Flight Path Reef Van der Weide You continue to develop effective skills to help you become an effective learner. All the best as you begin a new place of learning next week.
Flight Path Coby Maxwell What an athlete you are!! It was amazing to see you out there pushing yourself to achieve your goals with excellence. You placed first in all of your events and showed excellent sportsmanship qualities!! Kia Maia, stand Proud!!
Flight Path Te Wairua Forbes You have tried hard to settle into our class and hub routines. Welcome to our school. Naumai, haeremai!

Flight Deck – Years  4, 5 & 6

Mrs Hansen, Whaea Shirley, Mrs Barker & Mr Buller

Flight Deck Izzy Troughton You were a Karearea when it came to presenting your sustain inquiry. Being one of the first in the Flight Deck to share can be daunting but you showed courage. Kia kaha Izzy.
Flight Deck Mana Walker Kia Maia, your participation in athletics was fantastic. It was awesome to see you enjoying yourself and giving 100%. Stand proud Mana.
Flight Deck Te Putorino Moeke You are able to create and imitate 4 beat rhythm with precision and accuracy. Your fantastic attitude towards music encourages others to get involved. Ka pai!
Flight Deck Trinity Gover You were a Falcon in Music this week. You had the courage to set the class beat during drumming practice. Kia maia Trinity.
