Week 5 newsletter for term 4!
This week mark the half-way point in the term and time is racing by so fast! We had planned to start our swimming programme at about this time in the term however the weather is still very up and down, so we will have to wait until we have less rain and more sun! This being said, the pool is all up and running and ready to go with lovely new matting in the changing rooms and new lights also having been installed so there will be fewer excuses for our little learners to not be able to find the underwear in the dark corners of the changing sheds!
Last week we had a crew of clever people in at school installing our very fancy new camera system around the school. This is a HD camera system that can be accessed anywhere, records footage up to 30 days, and allows us to monitor our amazing school. This is great news in terms of ensuring that our school is a safe place during the school day and after hours. Schools have such a lot of wonderful resources and we really want people to enjoy our school anytime while feeling safe. This new system is a part of that vision so enjoy community!
Years 3 – 6 Athletics day 🙂
Last Thursday we held our Year 3 – 6 athletics day and after crossing our fingers and toes we were so lucky to have a stunning day in which our children were able to shine. What was so great to see was that all of our students absolutely stepped up with the right attitude on the day, that is, they gave their very best effort and tried so hard with a can do attitude. That is what matters most! We also had some fierce competition and some great results on the day, which will be in the sports news. We will also be sending some students, who were able to qualify, along to South Cluster Athletics next week. A huge thanks to all of the kids who were so awesome on the day, all of the staff who had input into the massive organisation that goes in this event, and also all of the parents and whanau who came along during the day to support you children.
Pool Key meeting
As mentioned previously, we have planned a meeting for all of those families wishing to utilise our school pool for the summer. This meeting will be at 5pm on Wednesday 23rd November. It is the expectation of the Board of Trustees that if you would like a Pool Key you must attend this meeting. Pool keys are leased out to our school community members for $55 each.

Remember to share with everyone you know about the newsletter format, we had a 50% open rate last week from 149 families and it would be great to grow this each week. Remember you can access the newsletter via an email link or directly through our website via the “Our school information” drop down menu.
