High Flyers for the Week 07/9/16

Last week we celebrated students from across the school who were acknowledged for making great choices that help them to fly in their lives and learning.  They are listed below and remember that you can access photos from our school Facebook page.

First Flight – New Entrant and Year 1

 Mrs Absalom, Mrs Kendrick Mrs Anthony & Mrs Bishop

Toe Toe Daniel Kelp For being a great friend and role model to other children in Room Toetoe. Ka Pai!!
Tawa Maddi Clements You are flying in your reading Maddi. You have learnt all of your magenta sight words, which is helping you to read with fluency. Keep up the hard work that I know you are doing at home too. Kia mia!
Harakeke Declan Valois Impressive report writing. You have a clear idea of what you want to say and you are able to complete your report in a clear and precise way. Kia Maia Declan
Kaponga Finlay McIver For making a huge effort in writing time. You are getting started straight away so that you can get all your ideas into your story. Great self-management. Kia maia.
Kopukapuka Oscar and Bailee Sweetman Congratulations on making a wonderful start at Welcome Bay School. You display a keen attitude towards your learning and you settle quickly to your work. We also appreciate your polite manners.

Take Flight – Years  2 & 3

 Take Flight  Briseis Thompson  For amazing smooth and confident reading. You are checking the initial sounds and picture clues to check that what you read always makes sense. Kia maia!
 Take Flight  Sam Teisi  For a great week of learning especially in maths. You are showing an awesome understanding of fractions.
 Take Flight  Zion Faaiuaso You are an example to follow as you explained, very clearly, how you found an answer to a maths problem.

 Flight Path – Years  3 & 4

Mr Stirling, Miss Fly & Mrs Veronese

 Pohutukawa  Kaydia Hamilton  You are learning to be a Karearea in your learning and choosing to trust yourself as you start to explore new things in your learning.
 Karaka  Jakub Watson-Crooks  You can be proud of the progress you have made in Maths. You can solve Stage 6 basic facts and find fractions of sets. Ka rawe pai.
 Kowhai Jade Tokona  It’s so good to see your smiling face in the playground. You can stand proud of the progress you have made when making positive choices with your friends. Kia Maia!

Flight Deck – Years  4, 5 & 6

Mrs Hansen, Whaea Shirley, Mrs Barker & Mr Buller

 Flight Deck  Mia Kingsbeer  You are one curious Kea. Your inquisitive mind is constanty searching for answers on how to take your learning and knowledge to great heights.
 Flight Deck  Jessica Stewart  Kia Maia, you have set a goal in maths, worked hard and achieved it! Congratulations on moving into Stage 7 basic facts.
 Flight Deck  Khingstyn McMillan Kia maia, it is great to see you standing proud and applying yourself in your learning. Keep making those good choices Khingstyn and you will go far.
 Flight Deck  Scarlett Christian  You have settled into the Flight Deck and have shown you can be a courageous and adventurous Welcome Bay Learner. Ka pai!
