High Flyers for the Week #18

Last week we celebrated students from across the school who were acknowledged for making great choices that help them to fly in their lives and learning.  They are listed below and remember that you can access photos from our school Facebook page.

First Flight – New Entrant and Year 1

 Mrs Absalom, Mrs Kendrick Mrs Anthony & Mrs Bishop

Harakeke  Samuel Xie  Stand proud Samuel. You have gained so much confidence in class and you are speaking in front of us all. It is fabulous to see your progress in reading as well.
Kopukapuka  Aroha Kopae   For showing a great attitude with your reading. You look carefully at the words and go back to the beginning of the sentence when your reading does not look or sound right. Ka pai
Toe Toe
Kaponga  Finlay McIver  For explaining your maths thinking so clearly. You are counting on and skip counting to solve problems already. Just like a Year 2 ! Stand proud.

Take Flight – Years  2 & 3

Mrs Daniels, Miss McGovern & Mrs McKinlay

Hub 2  Mahana Iapana  You’re working hard on being a Karearea in your learning – having a go at words in reading and recording the sounds you hear in writing. It’s been fantastic seeing you really try your best in everything you’ve done this week!
 Ana Elder  It’s great to see you focussing carefully on the words in your stories, even trying tricky words by yourself. You worked hard to get your ideas down in your writing sample showing you’re a true Karearea.
 Mikaere Van Silfhout  You model what a good learner looks like consistently in Take Flight, always striving to do your best and encouraging others to to the same. Kia manawanui.
Reading Recovery

Karaka  Cory Moss  You always ‘seek adventure’ as you look for extra jobs of responsibilty to do within the classroom and across the hub.
Kowhai  Coby Maxwell  Your practise and effort in your multiplication and division strategies has paid off. You can use your place value knowledge and reversibility with ease. Stand proud!
Pohutukawa  Bailyen Tapsell  You are creatively problem solving in maths, you are beginning to use skip counting which leads onto reapeated addition . Kia Kaha!
