Welcome back to the new term, we hope you had a great time at home with the kids and managed to pack in some great family moments in the stunning weather we have had. Even simple things like walking on one of our beautiful beaches, or playing at Tye Park can be so refreshing and create nice family memories.
The weather is still surprisingly warm as we head into term 2, but it will undoubtedly start to get cold soon, so please make sure childrens uniform is all named as this makes it much easier for us to return it when students leave it on the field or around the school with cold mornings followed by warmer days.
Last term was our final newsletter to go out as a hardcopy! We have made the decision to move to sharing school information electronically from the beginning of this term. What will this look like you ask? We will send an email each week to the email you have provided to school. This email will provide a “quick look” summary of the newsletter and will link to the full version. Our newsletters will all be available each week on our website, which will also be updated and our goal is for this to be a central source for our entire community to access all school information.
You can also download our school app, which links to our website for viewing school newsletters, also allows you to receive school notifications, sends calendar updates for activities, allows you to view photos, links with our school Facebook page, and also allows you to send in absentee notices to the school office if your child is sick. We currently have 115 users of the app so if you haven’t already got it, go to the app store for iphone, or Google play for android.
If we do not currently have the email address that you use as a home email, please send it to Cherie in the office asap so you can receive a weekly notification for our newsletters in the future.
Last term our winning House was TOROA, who won the coveted “Eggstravaganza” on the last day of school, which included an easter egg hunt in the bush area. This was lot’s of fun and recognised the efforts of everyone in Toroa House who had worked hard during the term to get points for their house either during assemblies, in the playground or classroom getting “Heart cards”, or receiving the prestigious POWER CARDS, which are worth 10 House points each.
Have a great week ahead!
